DISTRICT PLANNING

The District Planning Office, Deogarh was functioning with effect from 01.04.1994 in the D.R.D.A. premises after bifurcation of un-divided Sambalpur District. Thereafter this office is functioning in separate rented private building from 01.03.1996 to till date. Since inception of this District regular District Planning Officer has not been posted. Sri Nalini Kumar Das, District Planning Officer, Keonjhar is in charge of District Planning Officer, Deogarh and stationed at Keonjhar. He has taken the charge w.e.f. 22.12.2003.

 

District Planning Committee :        

 

District Planning Committee (D.P.C.) has been constituted in this district to undertake District Level Planning as per the mandatory provisions of the 74th Constitutional Amendment and the Orissa District planning Committee Act, 1998. Accordingly Government in Planning & Co-Ordination Department have constituted District Planning Committee, Deogarh vide Notification No.279/P., dtd.06.01.2005 and nominated Shri Jayanaran Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Commerce & Transport as the Chairperson of the District Planning Committee for Deogarh District. The first District Planning Committee meeting was held on 26.09.2005 under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Commerce & Transport, Orissa. The proceedings of the meeting has been submitted to the Hon’ble Minister vide letter No.383/P., dt.04.10.2005 for approval.

 

MPLAD Scheme :

 

Government of India, Ministry of Statistics and programme Implementation, New Delhi introduced a Scheme “Member of Parliament local Area Development Scheme” (MPLADS) effective from 23rd December, 1993. The fund is utilized for developmental activities based on locally felt needs, which lead to creation of durable assets on recommendation of the concerned M.P. A sum of Rs.2.00 Crore per M.P. constituency has been allotted for operation of this Scheme from 2003-2004. The detail information is at Annexure-II.

 

MLALAD Scheme :  

 

The State Government have brought out a Scheme “Member of Legislative Assembly Local Area Development Scheme” (MLALADS) effective from 1997-1998 on the line of Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). The fund is utilized for small but essential works/projects basing on the needs of the local people on recommendation of the concerned M.L.As. A sum of Rs.50.00 lakhs per Assembly Constituency has been allotted for operation of this Scheme from 2003-2004. The detail information is at Annexure-III.

 

Special Problem Funds :

A “Special Problem Fund” Scheme is in operation to undertake developmental works of urgent nature. The projects are finalised/sanctioned in Planning and Co-Ordination Department. Thereafter the projects are forwarded to the District for execution. The detail information is at Annexure-IV.
