LABOUR & EMPLOYMENT

INTRODUCTION :

             The Employment Sub-Office, Deogarh started its functioning from 1973 and upgraded to District Employment Exchange from 04.06.1994 vide G.D. No.7148/L.E., Dt.04.06.1994 Labour & Employment Department. It started its full fledged function since 01.04.1998. The jurisdiction of District Employment Exchange, Deogarh is conterminous to entire Revenue District of Deogarh.

 STRUCTURE :

          i.                    Secretariat, Labour and Employment Department, Bhubaneswar.

ii.                   Directorate of Employment, Orissa, Bhubaneswar.

iii.                 Regional Assistant Directorate of Employment.

iv.                 District Employment Exchange,

v.                  Employment Exchange, Sub-Office.

 As per above structure the State Director remains and is functioning as a manpower organization and Planning Agency for the State. All the above functionaries are total guided by the Director General of Employment and Training, Government of Orissa, New Delhi.

 FUNCTION & ACTIVITIES :

           i.                    Registers names of the Job-seekers.

ii.                   Sponsors name against the notified vacancies to the concerned employers.

iii.                 Provides information pertaining to various jobs and careers and acts as the nodal center for guidance activities.

iv.                 Guides and motivates un-employed youths for self employment.

v.                  Forecasts Main power requirement under Employment Market Information Programme.

vi.                 Organizes Pre-recruitment training Camps and SSB caching programme for entry in to Defense Forces on a regular basis.

vii.               Conduct Career talks, Career conferences and Career exhibitions in Schools and Colleges. Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped.

viii.              To identify and evaluate physical, Vocational, Special economic and pshychological capacities of the people with disbilities.

ix.                 To attend rehabilitation service through physical Restroration Training, Employment and Self Employment and create community awarness and social responsibility.

 OBJECTIVES :

           i.                    To assess obdurately the type of personnel’s in short supply, Basing on, it is            to be decided type of Vocational   Training courses are to be introduces.

ii.                   Giving advice about employment prospects to job-seekers.

iii.                 To measure continuously changes in the level of emplyment in exchange area and other areas constituting a specific employment market.

iv.                 To watch the progress of five year plan by the Government.

v.                  Providing information for other planning.

 Under the Employment Market information unit functioning at District Employment Exchange, Deogarh 68 numbers of establishments in Public Sector and 4 nos. of establishments in Private Sector are identified and rendering quarterly ER_1 return to the Employment Exchange. In this district the employment position in Public Sector is 2488 including 214 women and 48 including 28 women in Private Sector establishments as on December’ 2002. During the year 2002 total nos. of establishments have been inspected under Compulsory Notification of agencies Act’ 1959 and 7 nos. of establishment have been verified under Orissa Reservation of Vacancies Act’ 1975.

 SUCCESS STORIES :

             This organization is rendering its service from pre-independence stage till to date. It has performed its effective rols in creating employment both in Public Sector and Private Sector which ultimately makes the out put of gross enhancing National incoming. It has so far checked employment rush at the same time, helped in brining about marriage between Human Resources and Natural Resources. It has accelerated the five year plan of India, which ultimately brought about the India a socio economy position in a suitable state as per the global parameter. It has helped in alleviating poverty and illiteracy of India in a very effective manner and caused overall development of India as well.

             This organization is functioning its solve is a very effective manner by sending Rehabilitative service which is helping in beringing about better Economic scenerid of the Nation and the State and region as well. Deogarh which was a abckward region all respect has been serifiled grately by this organization for which it is more in respect of education. Service is comparison to other area.
